Our Story

Every brand has a story, and ours begins with a simple yet profound moment—a not-so-friendly "neighbor, walk yourself home." That sharp exchange

marked the start of our journey, not as instant friends, but as neighbors navigating the delicate balance of shared space and differing personalities.

There were moments of misunderstanding, times when life got in the way, and days when we questioned whether we were more different than alike. But despite the ups and downs, we kept showing up. Through shared experiences and the passing of time, we realized that our differences were actually the foundation of something much stronger—a partnership rooted in respect, creativity, and a shared vision for something greater.

The name "Nabo" is a nod to this spirit of community and connection. It originally came from Stefanie’s youngest child, who, in trying to say "neighbor," innocently coined the word "Nabo." After some research, we discovered that "Nabo" is actually the Danish word for "neighbor," which perfectly aligns with our values. This simple, heartfelt mispronunciation, combined with its deeper meaning, captured the warmth, authenticity, and sense of belonging we wanted our brand to embody.

Fast forward to today, and we’re still having fun trying to decide the best way to pronounce "Nabo." Whether you say it with a soft "a" or stretch the "o," the meaning remains the same—a brand that embodies the warmth of community and the thrill of discovering new connections. However you pronounce it, we hope Nabo inspires you to embrace every adventure and find your people along the way.

As we reflect on our journey, we can’t overlook the incredible support we’ve received from our spouses. They’ve been our rock, offering unwavering encouragement, invaluable advice, and a steady hand through every challenge and triumph. From late-night brainstorming sessions to celebrating our milestones, they’ve been by our side, believing in our vision and helping us bring Nabo to life.

Their love and support have been the foundation on which Nabo has grown. Just as Nabo is about finding your people, we’re reminded every day that our first "people" are the ones who’ve been with us from the start—our spouses. They’ve shown us the true meaning of partnership, and we’re so grateful for the role they’ve played in making Nabo what it is today. Thank you Camry and Austin!
